For all UI/UX people: pretty to look at != pleasant to use.
If you’re working on any interface that’s predominantly text (blog, news site, docs, etc.) - please use high text contrast.
As the default, not as an optional accessibility feature. As someone who reads lots of text content online, this is an annoying issue.
By contrast I mean the difference between background-color and color. If
both values are between #222 and #EEE, the contrast too is low.
